YouTube profile specs
YouTube wants a 2560 × 1440 banner but only guarantees the centre 1546 × 423 is visible on every device. Everything outside that band is cropped on phones and TVs.

Set it up
- 1Sign in to YouTube with a Google account
- 2Settings, then Create a channel
- 3Set the channel name below
- 4Customise channel, Branding: upload picture and 2560 × 1440 banner
- 5Basic info: paste the description and add links
- 6Set your @handle
Where it usually goes wrong
- Designing the whole 2560 × 1440 canvas — on a phone only the middle strip shows
- A handle that differs from your other platforms; the @handle is what appears in URLs and mentions
- Leaving the channel description empty — it's indexed by search
Skip the guesswork
SetMySocial writes your YouTube bio to exactly 1000 characters, checks whether the username is free, and exports the picture and cover at the right size.
Build my YouTube profileYouTube changes these limits without announcing it. If a number here is wrong, the checked date tells you how old it is.
